LAMDA for younger children (4+)

Introductory Examinations

These examinations offer children the opportunity to express themselves creatively, test their memory skills in an enjoyable and non-threatening way, and learn from their earliest years that examinations can be fun. They form a foundation and introduction to the speech and drama examinations framework across the rest of the LAMDA syllabus.

There is plenty of opportunity for enjoyable and stimulating group work as well as helping individual candidates to express themselves clearly and confidently.

Working on a set poem helps to stimulate imagination, creativity and expressiveness, as well as developing the more technical aspects of communication. The conversation element of each examination nurtures confidence and the exchange of information and ideas in a secure, stimulating environment.

Key to these examinations is a sense of fun - fun that is being put to a creative purpose.

These examinations are an assessment of the levels of achievement presented. There is no pass mark. No mark is given but candidates will receive a written report and a Pass, Distinction or Honours certificate.

The examiner will take into consideration the following aspects of communication confidence, clarity, expressiveness, imagination and vocabulary.
