Susan Roberts

Susan Roberts trained at the Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts in London. After graduating she worked extensively in all areas of the performing arts especially for BBC and Channel 4. She was a regular face in many commercials and major theatres. Whilst working for Children's BBC it became apparent that she had a natural ability to encourage and give confidence to children and it was at this time that she realised her strong beliefs in the training of children in the performing arts. These thoughts remain with her today, providing the foundations within the academy which the staff and herself follow; 'a strong basic training remains with a student for life whether it's a hobby or a serious vocational choice, a good training is essential for a successful future'.

Susan produces the Musical Theatre here at SRA and heads up the Drama department. Apart from her work at the Academy she works with her partner David Fielding in casting. Companies have included the ‘BBC’, ‘Century Aspect Films’, ‘The Farnham Film Company’, ‘Arcola Theatre’ & ‘The Carib Picture Company’. David and Susan have several television projects in development and it should come as no surprise that these projects are for young people!
